Encore
is the light entertainment magazine for the theatre
professional. Launched in
June 1991 by its editor and proprietor Peter G Foot, it is now
recognised by the light entertainment industry as the leading
publication that links the show producer and the venue manager. Besides
providing that vital link, Encore has been presenting its prestigious annual theatre awards
since 1995, honouring various integral sectors of the industry. This
event is now established in the British showbusiness calendar (and, in
2007, was filmed by BBC Television as part of a documentary about the
career of Sir Norman Wisdom)
Over
the past decade, Encore has staged its regular 'Talking Theatre' seminars and 'A
Meeting of Minds' debates which have become annual events.
In October 2006, Encore presented its ‘Talking Theatre’ Reception at the Houses
of Parliament hosted by MP Don Foster and attended by representatives
from all of the three main parties both from the House of Commons and
the House of Lords. ‘At
the House’ is now a regular column presented by editor Peter Foot
following his frequent visits to Parliament.
Encore
now claims to have the best team of columnists and reviewers covering
the sectors of light entertainment staged in the provincial theatre
marketplace
Encore
is distributed to:
Theatres,
Concert Halls, Arts Centres, Holiday Centres, Producing Managements,
Concert Promoters plus Theatrical Agencies and Managements, Television
and Radio Stations, Companies and Organisations servicing the industry.
